Self-introduction:

I am writing to apply for a full-time, tenure track position as a university economics professor in Xi'an, China.

I am fully qualified to teach Economics. I have a PhD in Cultural Anthropology, a MA in Political and Economic Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have taught Economics at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Xianlin and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have taught Economic Theory for the Business English Program at the University of Debrecen, Hungary and a wide variety of Liberal Arts courses at the University of California, Santa Cruz; San Jose City College, Gavilan College, Hartnell College; State University of New York at Purchase College; University of Debrecen, Hungary; European Humanities University in Minsk, Belarus; the Partium Christian University in Oradea, Romania and the University of Debrecen, Hungary.

Additionally, I have been working with students at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Xianlin in a 2+2 academic model for students interested in finishing their education at Waterloo University in Canada or at other North American institutions of higher learning. I believe in cultivating an environment that embraces and promotes diversity. I focus on student-centered pedagogy and advancing the internationalization of communication via hands-on, skills-based experiential and problem-based learning. I enjoy teaching undergraduate, introductory and upper level courses in economics, engaging in relevant research, and contributing to student growth and development through active involvement in student related activities and other institutional service. I regularly teach graduate seminars in Western Economic Theory and Macroeconomic History and Theory. I have developed an English language curriculum in Economics to include introductory, intermediate and advanced courses in micro and macro economics. I have professional publications and am devoted to teaching and research. I am currently working on a comparative study of youth culture, education, new social media and the entrepreneurial spirit in South Korea and China. I have presented my research findings at conferences hosted by Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Xianlin and I am preparing manuscripts for publication.

I can teach Macroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Economics, and Economic History; Writing for Economics, Critical Thinking and Qualitative Research Methods.
