Dear Director,

Service and patience are two tenets that I follow. Service, meaning: disposing myself to help people so that they may learn and enjoy life better; and patience, meaning: understanding that people make mistakes and remaining calm so that I may help people to correct said mistakes until they are satisfied with the results. I have always had a natural inclination to teach and I feel that teaching ESL has been calling to me. I have come to know this desire to teach through my educational career at Rutgers University. I am looking forward to interacting with students and helping them learn the English language and grow as people. That is what I enjoy most, watching people grow.

A successful teacher is someone who the students aren't intimidated by and can trust with whatever issues they are enduring. As a student of psychology, I witness many different methods of communication and have found that open communication is the most effective method when it comes to teaching. I will encourage a fun, proliferating, and especially educational environment by utilizing personalized itineraries for each student, catering to the different needs of each. Given my patience and desire to serve, I will do whatever I can so the students understand the material provided. I will use technology such as videos, music, and games so that the students feel they can relate more also.

As a server, I maneuver through environments utilizing exceptional customer service and patience with each customer. I have practiced open communication at each job, speaking honestly about each dish and listening carefully to the instructions of each of the customers. I have trained employees as well, maintaining a patience that is used to proliferate and encourage active learning, by teaching them computer systems and steps-of-service using a hands-on modality, where they practice by doing and I help guide them when they don't know. I enjoy teaching the employees and I enjoy conversing, making people feel confident and comfortable with me taking care of them.
