I am applying for this internship even though I am not currently enrolled in any graduate study
program because I am hoping it well help me with a future PhD thesis. The thesis will look at
the Great Leap Forward and how both Chinese culture and government policies lead to the
great Famine, after I will compare the current Chinese financial policies and go into detail about
the local and provincial economies to explain what is happening in China today.
