I have always had a passion for teaching the English language, first realised and developed throughout my Master’s Degree course, which led me to undertake a CELTA in order to gain the practical skills to become a stronger, more adaptable teacher. I thoroughly enjoy teaching the English Language and all its components, especially through role play and relatable situations. I speak English with great fluency myself, having lived in England and worked in a British International School. This immersion has given me the chance to live the language as my own.
My previous jobs in educational establishments have taught me the skills to cope in high-pressure, results-focused learning environments, where teacher and learner work together to achieve the best outcomes. I have spent a large amount of time working with small groups, focusing and personalising my teaching to guide academic progress. I take great pleasure in inspiring confidence and a love of learning, where young people endeavour to be reflective learners who look forward to coming into school every morning. Working in these Schools and Colleges has also given me an understanding of the importance of the personal virtues of punctuality, professionalism and integrity, which I believe are vital to succeed in such places of learning.

Throughout my time working in schools children have found me to be a trustworthy, relatable and patient person who they feel confident and safe attempting to overcome their learning challenges with. I feel my openness to learning new languages, even from the young people I teach, makes me an inspirational role model for life-long language learning. I expect the highest standards from every child with whom I work; I work to extend the most able whilst supporting those who need extra help. In this way, every child can succeed.

In my spare time I particularly enjoy trying new arts and crafts projects and this is a skill I love bringing into school to share with the children. I was leading arts and crafts club in my previous school for three years and have completed many exciting projects with the kids.

I hope this statement outlines the strengths and transferable skills that I would bring to an organisation. I am confident that my passion for teaching and my desire to share success with young people make me ideally suited to an ESL teaching role.
